Boyes Beach on Lake Okareka is a popular spot for swimming, fishing and picnics, consisting of BBQs, picnic tables, toilets, playground and designated overnight parking area for campervans and motorhomes.
The recently completed toilet and shower block replaces the old public toilets and adds family rooms, indoor and outdoor showers, dishwashing facilities and wash down pads for cleaning sports equipment to protect the biodiversity of the lake.
GRB Construction with Bishop Architecture were awarded the design & build contract to work on this state of the art toilet and shower block. The brief provided included facilities for multiple users, each with unique requirements. The building design uses wood as structural components and as feature elements alongside concrete tilt slab walls and takes inspiration from the landscape surrounding the lake.
MacDonald Industries collaborated with Bishop Architecture to provide bathroom fixtures and fittings for the build. “This project is located in a beautiful spot within the Rotorua Lakes area. Delabie Tempostop Time Flow Basin Tap
Delabie Time Flow Mixers shut off automatically after approximately 7 seconds of flow once the push-button has been pressed. No manual contact after washing prevents the spread of germs by hand. This also removes the risk of water wastage through negligence. Flow rates are pre-set at 3 lpm and can be adjusted from 1.5 to 6 lpm. Delabie taps comes with a 10 year warranty against faulty workmanship.

Franke Heavy Duty is a high-security product line and designed for vandal prone areas such as public bathrooms. These extremely robust products are made of 1.5mm thick stainless steel making them impact-proof. The washbasin and toilet suite include hidden mounting for added security.

Delabie Sporting 2 Shower Panel has been specifically designed to withstand intensive use and vandalism. The aluminum panel is highly durable with reinforced and concealed fixings. The fitted shower head is tamper proof and scale resistant. The streamlined design and slimline structure discourages attempts at vandalism."
Delabie Sporting 2 Shower Panel’s offer maximum water savings ensuring water bills can be reduced whilst preserving user comfort. The shower shuts off automatically after approximately 30 seconds of flow once the push-button has been pressed, removing the risk of water wastage. The time flow is reduced to the necessary minimum for wetting and then rinsing. The flow rate is regulated at 6 lpm so the flow remains constant regardless of pressure variations in the system.
